Ever wondered why we ever celebrated Christmas today? Christmas carols were being sung throughout the world. We just want to remember the day that our Saviour is born. As everyone wishes all Christians "Merry Christmas", I guess I have been sending massive sms-es to wish all my friends today. I hope all of you did receive my sms.
However, Christmas today is somewhat commercialised but my family is still practising the old tradition of gifts exchange. Christmas trees and decorations are not cheap these days.
This year Kevin and I bought a handbag to my mum, a belt and some "Pao Sam"(Herbs) for my daddy and 2 shirts for Jeremy. In exchange, Kevin received a long sleeve shirt from my parents while I received a skirt and a handbag from them. Meanwhile my brother has 17 presents in total. Isn't it nice to be kids after all?
I started celebrating Christmas with Pastor Vic & some churchmates in Mid Valley on Thurs night. Then, I attended my church's annual Christmas dinner in Ipoh on Sat night with my family and Kevin. On Christmas eve dinner (last night), my family and I celebrated at Secret Recipe with a overflowing blessed dinner. Today, I had Christmas Service in church as usual. Singing carols were a norm. Plus, I had a get-together dinner with my colleagues with a gift exchange session as well.
Christmas is not only to celebrate Christ's birth 2000 years ago. But for the many non Christians, they celebrate for the sake of gift exchange. They were merry as you could see from your peers and I guess Christmas has been special to them too.
This Christmas time has not given me any satisfaction or perhaps I just felt that I wasn't blessed in this festive season. Somehow Christmas isn't Christmas till it happens in your heart and deep down in there, something is ringing....
No, I don't wanna sound emo here. Thus, I just want to wish all of you a blessed Christmas and may you embrace a wonderful new year ahead.
